This is the simplest form of distribution that involves goods from one site being dispatched to another site. For example, a factory may produce parts that are used as ingredients in the finished goods of another factory. The parts factory loads the parts onto a vehicle and dispatches it to the finished goods factory where the goods are unloaded. The empty vehicle returns to the parts factory.
